Oil on canvas framed 43 x 54 (17 x 21)
Signed Unsafe passage treble clef John Woodhouse 2019.
I was very struck by how unsafe this landing is. There are only 2
ropes holding a boat which is rocking about near to a rocky shore.
If it were not for the men bridging the gap together, the boy could
not be safely brought to shore. The woman on the crowded boat
is in great distress. Is she the boy’s mother? Meanwhile the young
father hopefully carries the child away to safety after a perilous
journey. Perhaps the few wearing lifejackets are rescuers?
